Persevere

Things that have brought me here

Memories shall I always hold dear

Letting go thoughts of dread and fear

Events that have occurred

Make me persevere

I am now and will be strong

I know exactly where I belong

Sadness within will not prolong

There’s more to be had all lifelong

And with that I do say along will come a better day

Joy and happiness will come my way

Again I turn a chapter and pray

Because I am a fighter

Days from darkness become lighter

In turn they also grow brighter

Still a poet I am, still a writer

I possess the internal will

To not lay dormant, not lay still

My heart will once again fill

All of what I say shall not be nil

I can and I will persevere
