A storm rages in my heart
Separating and setting me apart

For a soul seeking a start

Nothing can compare
It's my nature to care
Stopping, I stare
At beauty in life to behold
Therein my story is told
Where faith never grows old

The light of empathy is my gift

Granted by God from adrift

To help, listen and uplift

Lying in the depths of my soul

Is a heart loving and whole

Caring and giving is my goal

A storm rages deep inside

With a heart open wide

Where love shall never subside
